Professional Questions

What do you like most about your job?

“The team atmosphere. Everyone is always willing to help out so we can produce the best product possible. “

What projects are you currently working on? A large industrial project in Berks County, townhomes at 901 Washington Street in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomeryville Outback and some Wawa improvement projects.

How and why did you become an EXPERT in ADA Compliance? A client had reached out after an ADA lawsuit was filed against them. They asked us to come up with a solution. After one location, they wanted us to look at more and then come up with a program to evaluate all of their locations – that was in 2013. I’ve worked on a couple hundred since then.

Once I started working on these projects, it became evident to me that many places are not ADA compliant. I would notice this when pulling into a parking lot or walking down the street. I really started thinking about it in terms of mothers with strollers too, not just people in wheelchairs. This became my expertise because ADA compliance needs to be expanded to a lot of places we use in everyday life – I want to make it easier for people to get around.

What advice would you give someone who just started at Nave Newell or someone thinking about joining our team?

Dive in! Decide what you would like to be an expert in and just get started. Nobody is an expert when they first start something; just keep learning and improving.”

What’s your goal for the next year? Wrap up some very large projects and help the company, specifically the Civil Department look for ways to become even more efficient.
