Eco-Energy Ethanol Transfer Facility at Pier 124
City of Philadelphia, PA
Tennessee-based Eco-Energy Inc., a leading biofuel, supply chain company, planned to build an ethanol transfer facility with rail, water and roadway access at Pier 124 at the Port of Philadelphia. Nave Newell worked with GEI Consultants and Chambers Engineering for this industrial redevelopment located along the Delaware River.
A challenging site with both access issues and contaminated soils, Nave Newell’s surveyors completed boundary and topographic surveys of property. Nave Newell also assisted the client with PWD permitting, City of Philadelphia Zoning Permits, NPDES permit (with impacted soils and a soils management plan) and PADEP Chapter 105 permits for basin discharges. A complex stormwater design included a rain garden that spanned nearly .2 miles.
