Lansdale Municipal Complex
Lansdale Borough, Montgomery County, PA
Winner of the 2017 Montgomery Award for Excellence in Planning and Design, the Lansdale Municipal Complex is an excellent representation of the revitalization of an older, established community. The resulting 35,000 sf, two-story complex includes preserved portions of the existing building and combines the administration and the police department into one facility for greater efficiency.
Nave Newell worked with the architect to prepare a sketch plan depicting Borough Hall, Administrative Annex, revised parking, service/circulation areas as well as exterior sidewalks/plazas, and other site improvements. Nave Newell also prepared the Construction Documents, permit plans necessary for Borough approvals, and assisted the architect with LEED certification. The result - a beautifully renovated municipal complex and enhanced community image for the Borough of Lansdale.
"In a design that combined existing building facades with new construction, the project was complex involving unique nuances that would provide challenges to most," Assistant Borough Manager John J. Ernst said. "Every Borough staff member, contracted designer, engineer and construction member, took these challenges head on and used care and precision to create a finished product that not only looks good but more importantly will last."
