Natural Lands Bryn Coed Farms

West Vincent, East Pikeland, and West Pikeland Townships, Chester County, PA

After acquiring 1500 acres of Chester County forest and farmland in 2017, Natural Lands selected Nave Newell to provide land surveying and civil engineering services to help subdivide the property known as Bryn Coed Farms. From the moment the project started, it was fast-paced and involved the coordination with attorneys, real estate brokers, and municipal officials from 3 Townships to quickly get Naturals Lands what they needed to transfer of the land.

As a result, 39 parcels with conservation easements were sold to private buyers, a 500-acre preserve was opened to the public, and 72 acres were dedicated toward a municipal park. We worked closely with Natural Lands to come up with the individual lots lines for the private lots, which each have a “building envelope” where the buyer can construct a new single family home; preserving viewsheds of the beautiful Chester County landscape. The public preserve opened at the end of 2018 includes miles of hiking trails, the headwaters of the Pickering Creek, and historic structures. Since then, we have also worked with many of the individual buyers to prepare plans and secure permits necessary to build their homes.
