Cairn University

Middletown Township, Bucks County, PA

Nave Newell has worked on the 100-acre Cairn University campus since 2010. Several years ago, Cairn kicked off a capital campaign called FORWARD, with the goal to create spaces that build campus community among students, faculty, and alumni, as well as facilitating outreach to the local community.

The new G. Patrick Stillman Athletic Complex provides an upgraded venue for various athletic teams and a gathering place for campus life. The complex features a multi-purpose turf field for soccer and lacrosse, new baseball and softball fields, a revamped parking lot, and stormwater improvements.
Nave Newell started the project with a site survey and feasibility study. During the planning stages, we actively coordinated with Cairn University to discuss schematic design to ensure the proposed design and improvements met the University’s functional and operational needs. In order to meet the stormwater requirements necessary to obtain a General NPDES Permit, Nave Newell designed multiple rain gardens, infiltration beds, and stormwater retention systems. We then secured preliminary/final land development approval from two municipalities and construction was completed in early 2022.
